Storyline. Rahul 40-year-old bachelor boards the Chennai Express in order to fulfill his grandmother's desire of  drop his grandfather's ashes in Rameswaram, the southern-most tip of India. But he has secretly planned a getaway in the next station so that he can go to Goa with his friends. But meets   Meena (daughter of Komban village’s don Dugeshwara) with her 4 cousin brothers in the next staion... Meena’s father wants her to get married against her wishes. Rahul tries to help meena to escape from her form her cousin brother's but fails in it, as a result he is trapped and travel along with meena to Komban Village.  The rest of the story is a riot of  romantic and action sequences with some interesting drama peppered and pickled in. As the story moves forward, the guessing game becomes easier, there by revealing the climax of the movie.

ReviewEnergetic opening, Excellent Camerawork by Dudley especially Dudhsagar Falls(Located On The Mandovi River In Goa's Border With Karnataka State) was captured beautifully,  and Conversation between SRK and Deepika through songs has made a new trend in entertaining the audience. Action sequences are purely in Rohith shetty Style. Most of the conversation's are in tamil which creates a confusion throughout the film.As the story moves forward, the guessing game becomes easier, there by revealing the climax of the movie. The  Climax is also not so effective.... Still it doesn't effect the box office collection.

Ratting: 3.5/5

Box Office collectionChennai Express as expected made its first record at the domestic box office by Collecting  6.75 crores from its paid previews , the film has beaten the previous records of 3 Idiots  i.e 2.75 crores which was so far the best collection record by any film on its preview day.

Chennai Express' has collected  of Rs. 33.12 crore on the first day its opening and also beaten the previous record of of Salman Khan's 'Ek Tha Tiger' that earned Rs. 31.25 crore on  the opening day.
Apart from the star power and story line, the film has worked at the box office because of increase in ticket prices, huge number of screens -3500 screens in India, and also due to Eid holiday.Currently it's total collection is 40+ Crore, by the end of the day it will surely cross 50+ crore. It might also break the record of Ek Tha Tiger of 100 crore collection in 6 days.
